چکیده

Interfering signals are a common nuisance in wireless communications and may cause performance loss. In addition, overlay systems where non-spread and spreadspectrum systems coexist will become more common in the future. Therefore, the need for versatile interference suppression (IS) systems increases. In conventional transform domain suppression, the interference is excised in some transform domain. These types of systems can be extended by using several domains and choosing the most suitable one based on some selection metric. Herein, two novel domain selection metrics are proposed and the domain selection abilities of these metrics are investigated and compared.

Some alternatives in transform-domain suppression of narrow-band interference for signal detection and demodulation

| Conventional detection and demodulation rules are not ideally suited for use with discrete Fourier transform (DFT) based narrow-band interference suppression, if the DFT incorporates time-weighting to localize the interference spectrally. Detection rules which are adapted to the time-weighting are introduced here and shown to ooer signiicant improvements in performance, but their implementati...

The Rfi Suppression Method Based on Stft Applied to Sar

Improved radio frequency interference suppression method based on short time Fourier transform applied to synthetic aperture radar is proposed in this paper. The radio frequency interference, including narrow-band interference and wide-band interference, are analyzed in time frequency domain. The interference is identified at instantaneous frequency spectrum by a novel threshold criterion in ti...

Performance of Adaptive Filtering Techniques Using the Fractional Fourier Transform for Non-Stationary Interference and Noise Suppression

The Fractional Fourier Transform (FrFT) performs better interference suppression than the fast Fourier Transform (FFT) when the signal-of-interest (SOI) or interference is nonstationary. Minimum mean-square error (MMSE) based filtering in the FrFT domain provides additional benefit in interference suppression in non-stationary environments. However, MMSE filtering requires computational covaria...

Narrow-Band Interference Suppression in CDMA Spread-Spectrum Communication Systems Based on Sub-Optimum Unitary Transforms

In this paper, we present several unitary transform-domain filtering techniques based on KarhaunenLoeve Transform (KLT) for narrow-band interference rejection in CDMA communication systems. The reason for selecting the KLT is that it is an optimum unitary transform in the sense of packing the energy of the narrow-band interference. As a result after applying this transform, a small portion of t...
